Alltrust Insurance Inc., an employee benefits consulting firm, has merged with Caswell Insurance Services Inc. Both firms are headquartered in Palm Harbor. Alltrust acquired Caswell, an independent insurance agency focused on employee benefits, in a cash and earn-out acquisition Jan. 14. Specific terms of the deal were not released.

The acquisition added two employees to Alltrust’s staff of 29 and brought about 40 employer groups to Allstate’s clientele, which includes 430 Tampa Bay area companies ranging from physicians groups to roofing firms. The consolidated offices opened Monday.

Alltrust, which opened a Sarasota office earlier in January, plans to acquire additional companies as part of a strategic five-year plan, said Managing Partner Joe Part. Alltrust was founded in 1993.
