Tampa is the second best major metropolitan area nationally for getting a raise.
That’s the finding of the annual WorldatWork Salary Budget Survey. Rankings were based on average raise for middle performers.
Tampa reported a 2.2 percent average pay increase. Roughly 79 percent of companies plan to grant raises, the data showed.
In third place, Boston also reported a 2.2 percent average raise, with 77 percent of companies intending to grant them. Meanwhile, Washington ranked No. 1 in the study, with a 2.3 percent salary increase and 77 percent of companies planning increases.
Philadelphia, Denver, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, New York and Baltimore round out the top 10, respectively.
WorldatWork, a nonprofit human resources association, received more than 2,600 responses from its members, which are employed in the human resource, compensation and benefits departments.
